Originally from San Francisco, I'm an experienced journalist based in Istanbul, Turkey, for the past decade-and-a-half. My writing spans environmental, political, social, and urban issues, as well as arts and culture, food and drink, and travel.
When I'm not working, I'm probably off on a run, hike, or urban exploration.
My writing has been published by The Architectural Review, Atlas Obscura, BBC Travel, Bloomberg CityLab, The Christian Science Monitor, The Daily Beast, Deutsche Welle, Discover, Hyperallergic, The Independent, Lonely Planet, Metropolis, MIT Technology Review, National Geographic, The New Humanitarian, Politico, Runner's World, Sierra, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Travel + Leisure, The Washington Post, Wired, and many other outlets.
